Sugarloaf Cove is a 34-acre site
located on the North Shore of Lake
Superior, approximately 4 miles southwest
of the town of Schroeder, Minnesota.
Here is the entrance to the trail leading to the lake.
At Sugarloaf Cove, you’ll find an easy one-mile interpretive hiking trail. The trail winds through the forest and over 1.1 billion year old rocks. Enjoy the trees, birds and wildflowers, and then take in breathtaking views of Lake Superior and scenic Sugarloaf Point.
The interpretive center, in a simple log building that contains exhibits on the history and ecosystem of Sugarloaf.
This beach has some of the most amazing rocks I have ever seen. I loved these round rocks that were just slightly smaller than a bowling ball.
This is one of the beaches that had great places to hike. Be sure to wear good shoes because there is always rock climbing involved when traveling the North Shore of Minnesota.
