US VIRGIN ISLANDS (MEGAN'S BAY)

The US Virgin Islands was the first stop on our week long cruise.  We didn't have any plans when we arrived and decided to take a taxi to nearby Magens Bay.  It's only 6 miles from the cruise port and cost about $8 per person each way.
I don't think there is such a thing as an ugly beach in the Virgin Islands and one would assume that any beach you would visit would be exquisite.

Magens Bay was as you would imagine....beautiful, clean, and peaceful.

Magens Bay Beach is considered the most popular beach and the most visited by tourist.  You will hear and read a lot about Trunk Bay but due to time constraints, many visitors from cruise ships opt to skip this beach.  I know that several people on our ship did venture over the Trunk Bay without any issues.

Since the bay is surrounded by lush hills, the water stays calm making it perfect for families with small children.

They have several picnic tables around and a few umbrellas.  And there is this really cool fence for photos.

As  you can see, there are very few people on the beach making this one of my favorite beaches on this vacation.

THE PORT

The port in St Thomas is super easy to navigate.  To get outside of the port,  you will need to marked walkway until you reach the shopping area and then turn right.  You will see where all of the vehicles exit.

They have staff standing near the entrance of the port that will ask you where you want to go and get a taxi for you.  A taxi could be anything from a van to an open-air vehicle.
