As a huge fan of Jaws, I was especially excited to see Universal Studios Florida bring a little bit of Amity Island back to life for the film’s 50th anniversary. During the summer celebration, the San Francisco area of the park was transformed with nostalgic signs, nautical décor, vintage props, and plenty of photo opportunities that pay tribute to both the movie and the former Jaws attraction.
A temporary “Little Amity” area was created near Chez Alcatraz, giving fans a chance to step into an atmosphere that feels like a little piece of the old Amity Island has returned. From the hanging shark to the fishing boat and vintage truck, there are several spots worth seeking out if you love Jaws as much as I do.

“Bruce” the Hanging Shark
One of the most recognizable photo opportunities is the great white shark replica affectionately known as “Bruce.” Suspended from a beam, the shark instantly brings back memories of the former Jaws ride and its classic photo opportunities.
Standing underneath Bruce with his jaws hanging overhead makes for a fun and slightly terrifying picture. If you're a Jaws fan, this is definitely one photo you won't want to miss.
Amity 6 Boat Attack Scene
Just across from the shark is another impressive recreation: the Amity 6 boat under attack.
The boat is set up to look like it's in the middle of a dangerous encounter, complete with a grenade launcher mounted on the deck. The surrounding signs and details really help sell the scene, making this a great place to get creative with your photos.
Whether you pose as though you're steering the boat or simply stand alongside it, this is one of the more dramatic photo spots in the area.
Welcome to Amity Island Signs
As you make your way through the Little Amity area, you'll find signs and banners that help recreate the look and feel of Amity Island.
One of my favorites is the “Beach Closed” sign, along with the Americana-style decorations scattered throughout the area. The details give the entire section a nostalgic, small-town seaside feeling and make for some fun vacation photos.
Even if you're not posing in front of every sign, it's worth slowing down and looking around. There are little touches everywhere that Jaws fans will recognize.
San Francisco Candy Factory
Don't forget to step inside the San Francisco Candy Factory. Even if you aren't planning to buy anything, the shop itself became part of the Jaws celebration, with themed signage, props, merchandise, and displays throughout the space.
Another standout photo opportunity was the vintage red Coca-Cola truck parked near the entrance.
Decorated with fishing gear, barrels, nets, and Amity Island signage, the truck looked like it could have been pulled straight out of the world of Jaws. The weathered details and nautical decorations fit perfectly with the rest of the celebration.
This was one of those unexpected details that made the area feel much more immersive.
Bringing Amity Island Back to Universal Studios
The Jaws 50th anniversary celebration was such a fun treat for fans of the movie and for those of us who remember the original Universal Studios attraction. Seeing the familiar shark, boats, signs, and nautical details scattered throughout the San Francisco area brought back a lot of nostalgia.
Between the hanging Bruce, the Amity 6 boat, the vintage truck, the Little Amity signs, and the decorations inside the Candy Factory, there were plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures.
For Jaws fans, it was more than just a collection of photo spots. For a little while, Universal Studios Florida managed to bring back the spirit of Amity Island and give fans a chance to step into the world of one of the most iconic movies ever made.
Unfortunately, this was a limited-time celebration and the Little Amity installations were scheduled to disappear after July 6, 2025. If you missed it, hopefully Universal will find another excuse to bring a little Amity Island back in the future!
