A Perfect Day at West Bay Beach, Roatan

The moment we stepped off the cruise ship in Roatan, we were ready for a beach day. The port area was lively and colorful, with tour guide waiting just outside. We had booked with Alpha Tours, and finding our guide was quick and easy. Within minutes, we were on our way and already feeling good about our decision to book outside the cruise line.

Our driver was friendly and made the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. We made a quick stop at an eco park before heading to the beach.

West Bay Beach – A Shared Slice of Paradise

When we arrived, West Bay Beach was just as beautiful as everyone says. The sand was soft and white, and the water was that clear, bright turquoise you hope for when visiting the Caribbean.

One thing I think is helpful to know is that West Bay Beach isn’t just one single resort—it’s a stretch of beach lined with multiple resorts and beach clubs. They’re all set along the same shoreline, so no matter which one you choose, you’re really getting access to the same beautiful beach.

We spent our time at Beach Club San Simon, where we met up with friends. We paid $20 per person for access, which included chairs and a place to relax for the day. It was simple, but it worked perfectly for what we needed.

A Relaxing Start… and a Rainy Finish

We settled into our chairs and enjoyed the view, taking in the water and just slowing down for a bit. We didn’t order any food or drinks ourselves, but our friends did and said everything was really good.

Unfortunately, our beach time didn’t last as long as we had hoped. After just a few hours, the rain rolled in. Instead of waiting it out, we decided to go ahead and head back to the ship.

Final Thoughts

Even though our time was cut short, West Bay Beach still lived up to its reputation. It’s truly a beautiful spot, and I love that you have options when it comes to choosing a resort or beach club—while still enjoying the same stunning beach.

If we go back, I’d absolutely return and just hope for a full day of sunshine next time
