There is no arguing that the beach here is beautiful. We did not book an excursion here but hired a driver/guide outside of the Carnival cruise port. We requested to visit a nice beach and they brought us to the Henry Morgan Resort. The cost was $10 to get in which gave us clean restrooms and a beach chair.
We were only there about 3 hours so I can not personally give you information on the food or lodging but you will find a lot of information on Tripadvisor. Overall, most of the bad reviews of this resort is in the area of food. The beach is public so I'm sure you could have a great place to eat nearby.
The beach will be full of people trying to sell you hats, sunglasses, and jewelry. There will also be no shortage of people offering to do you hair or give you a message. If you are looking for something to do, there will be vendors around offering parasailing and snorkeling.
While we were sitting on the beach, a dark cloud appeared amid the robin egg blue sky, and gave me the opportunity to photograph this funnel. I was hoping it would make it's way to the water but it only gave me a glimpse of the tail and then slowly made it's way back into the cloud.
They had a pool but I don't think it was included in the $10 entrance fee.
If you have never been to Honduras, you have no idea that the roads are filled with potholes and that the drivers constantly swerve to avoid them. If you get motion sick easily, I suggest you make arrangements to sit in front next to the driver.
