The Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill: Exploring Ancient Rome

I've visited Rome more than once, but during my 2016 trip I finally made my way to three of the city's most iconic ancient sites—the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to visit them, but I'm certainly glad I finally did. These are the places you see in photographs and history books, and standing among them in person gives you a much better appreciation for just how much of ancient Rome is still woven into the modern city.
