There are some places you visit on a trip that are beautiful, some that are exciting, and some that leave you completely speechless. Pompeii was one of those places for me.
My daughter and I decided we simply couldn't go to Italy without seeing Pompeii. It was one of those places we had dreamed about visiting but never really thought we'd get the chance to see. Like so many places on this trip, I wasn't quite prepared for what I was about to experience.
Walking through the ancient streets of Pompeii, with Mount Vesuvius rising in the distance, was awe-inspiring. Everywhere we looked, there were reminders of the people who had lived here nearly 2,000 years ago.
