ENCHANTED ROCK STATE NATURAL AREA ~ TEXAS


Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is made up of pink granite and is located about 17 miles north of Fredericksburg, TX.  This was on my sisters list of places to see and it though it was beautiful, it wasn't at the top of my list.  If you have time to kill, take the drive and enjoy the view.  If you are short on time, I would skip this side trip.

Hours  Open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Office Hours  Monday through Friday:  8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Busy Season   September through May.

Entrance Fees  Adult: $7 Daily                            Child 12 Years and Under: Free


THINGS TO DO:
You can hike, backpack, camp, rock climb, picnic, and geocache (You cannot swim here or ride bikes on the trails. The Summit Trail may close in wet weather.)
Rock climbers must check in at park headquarters. You can pick up route maps there and read the climbing rules. Read through our Climbing Information before you come.
Sweet Marleys  offers food, drinks, frozen treats and more and are at the park on weekends and some weekdays. You can buy wood for campfires at the park. You will need  to bring your own drinking water.
