CASCADE RIVER STATE PARK ~ MINNESOTA (With Video)

The best part about a road trip along the North Shore of Lake Superior is that you can stop almost anywhere along Hwy 61 and see something amazing.

Most of the time we would see a lot of cars in a parking lot or on the side of the road and we would pull in to see what the attraction was.

The good part about being curious when traveling is that you find some of the best sites and meet the most amazing people.

Cascade River State Park is one of those sites.

The entrance to the state parks in Minnesota is much different than the state parks we have in Arkansas.  If you decide to visit this state park, you will need to locate this entrance.

You will need to walk up some steps...

And some more steps.

But the view is worth it!

INFORMATION

Come to Cascade for the rushing river and grand waterfalls that lay within a gorge, lush with moss and ferns that grow on black volcanic rocks. Hike the trail through birch, spruce and white cedar; stop to see the views of Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world.
