REVIEW OF THE CARNIVAL BREEZE

Image result for carnival breeze

The Carnival Breeze is a 3,690 passenger ship and can hold 4,724 guest when every bed is occupied. That is one crowded ship. The last cruise on the Breeze that I took was filled to capacity and I will be leaving again in a month and it is shows all rooms filled except for the most expensive suites.

Carnival Breeze may not be for those looking for a calm, relaxing time at sea. You will stand in long lines the popular food joints such as Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse, Guy's Burger Joint and the Comfort Kitchen buffet.  The pools will be so crowded that swimming is not an option but will work if you like standing in one spot just to cool off.

Sea days are a nightmare and good luck on getting an elevator.  You will even be hard pressed to find a place to sit at the Dive In Theater.
If you love to party and enjoy spending time in crowds, this ship is for you.  If you don't, well....you will still have a great time.

My problem is that I don't like crowds.  I want a  nice relaxing vacation.  Away from the crowds. Away from stress.  Away from work.

You can still find all of this on a cruise ship, even the Carnival Breeze.  My favorite deck is the Serenity Deck.  No kids allowed.  There are some nice cushions and hammocks.  Grab a good book and something to drink and head up to the 12th deck.
One thing you will not have to worry about on the Breeze is going hungry. Even if you have special diet restrictions, they have you covered.

I'm still dreaming about the  creme brulee.  And if you really love something...ask for two!

COMFORT KITCHEN
Start with a mixed-greens salad topped with the freshest ingredients before moving on to delicious ricotta meatloaf served with garlic roast potatoes. Finish the meal off right with warm apple pie or peach cobbler. There's something different every day, so come on by and see what is cooking.

PIZZA PIRATE
Pizza 24 hours a day - Margherita, Funghi, Prosciutto, Pepperoni or Quatttro Formaggi pizza served with a delicious Caesar salad.

MONGOLIAN WOK
First, select your noodles and veggies. Then tell one of our chefs which sauce and meat you want in the wok.

THE CARNIVAL DELI
Enjoy old time favorites like a hot pastrami on rye, grilled Reuben, or roasted turkey breast on a country roll. Our sandwiches and wraps are always hand-carved and served fresh with cole slaw or relish.

THE CAPTAIN'S PASTA BAR
Start with the pasta you’re in the mood for — linguine, farfalle, penne anyone? — then select your choice of sauce and meat, and they’ll cook it up in the same Italian culinary tradition we bring to the table nightly at Cucina del Capitano.

CHEF'S CHOICE
Enjoy shrimp quesadillas and tortilla soup from Mexico, braised beef bordelaise plus potato and leek soup from France, jerk chicken and Jamaican pepper stew from the Caribbean, or Manhattan clam chowder and southern fried chicken from the good ol’ USA.

GOOD EATS
Enjoy New York strip steak, broiled pork chops served with white rice or roasted potato, a carving station and so much more. There's something different on the menu every night, so you can come back and try something new.

REDFROG PUB
Sample Caribbean fare, dominate at the foosball table, enjoy some sweet tunes from live musicians and sip our tasty signature private-label brew, ThirstyFrog® Red.

Note: Food menu is available on Carnival Breeze, Carnival Magic and Carnival Vista, for an additional cost.

TANDOOR
Enjoy tandoori chicken or fish with cumin pilaf, succulent beef kebabs, or dip hot naan bread into sweet chutney, all straight from the Tandoor.

What I liked:

  • The decor on the ship is nice.
  • The rooms are a nice size (I have stayed in ocean view & balcony)
  • There are plenty of elevators though they can be crowded on sea days.
  • Ship is super clean and well kept.
  • The Serenity Deck - Great place to get away from the kids.
  • Great choice of foods
  • Ship is large enough that you can always find an uncrowded place to hang out, even on sea days.
  • Great water slides and play area for kids
  • Camp carnival - Great place for young kids.  My two year old grandson had a great time.  You can check on kids through the glass at all times.
  • Plenty of tables for dining
  • The Dive In Theater!

What I disliked

  • Wasn't enough seating for many of the shows.
  • Casino was full of cigarette smoke
  • Compared to other Carnival ships, the buffet seemed to lack variety though the chocolate buffet was really nice.  No worries, you will not go hungry.  There are so many restaurant choices that you will probably not have time to try them all.
  • Hard to find a quiet place on sea days but it can be done.

Update:  I have since sailed on the Carnival Fascination and the Breeze is much nicer, has much more entertainment, and much larger variety of food.  The cabins on the Fascination were also much, much smaller.
