The resort also has an amazing view of Universal's Volcano Bay. Seeing the Volcano from the property was such a fun addition to the overall vacation experience.
A Fun 1950s Theme
The 1950s theme begins before you even walk into the lobby. Parked outside near the entrance are classic cars that immediately set the tone for this retro-inspired resort.
The lobby is huge, colorful, and full of nostalgic details. Bright murals and 1950s décor continue throughout the resort, creating a fun atmosphere that feels completely different from a traditional hotel
Rooms and Service
Our room was very clean, and the service was great during our stay. One thing to be aware of is that Universal resorts have changed their housekeeping practices. At the time of our visit, we needed to request room cleaning or additional towels rather than receiving daily automatic housekeeping.
Pools and Resort Amenities
The pool areas are one of the highlights of Cabana Bay. The resort has two large pools with sandy beach areas that make it feel more like a vacation destination than just a place to sleep.
The lazy river was one of our favorite ways to spend a relaxing afternoon. After busy days at the parks, it was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the resort. There are also poolside bars offering drinks and casual snacks.
Dining Options
The food selection at Cabana Bay was better than what we had experienced at some other Universal resorts. The Bayliner Diner offers a large variety of choices, and there is plenty of seating available to enjoy your meal.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, and it was convenient to have so many options without having to leave the resort. There is also a Starbucks on the property if you need a coffee before heading to the parks.
Final Thoughts
Our first stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort was a great experience. We loved the retro theme, the pool areas, the convenient transportation, and the overall fun atmosphere of the resort.
