La Siesta Resort: A Relaxing Stay in Islamorada, Florida

  

On my recent road trip to the Florida Keys, we spent three nights at the beautiful La Siesta Resort in Islamorada. Located right on the Atlantic, the resort turned out to be a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Keys. 

One of the things I really liked about staying at La Siesta Resort was that guests also have access to three sister resorts — Amara Cay, Postcard Inn, and Pelican Cove — where you can enjoy additional amenities and watersports.

La Siesta Resort sits on six acres of oceanfront property along the historic Overseas Highway at Mile Marker 80. It is less than 90 minutes from Miami and about an hour and a half from Key West, making it a convenient location for exploring the Florida Keys.

The resort offers beachfront cottages, vacation home rentals, and guest rooms surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. Winding stone pathways lead through the property, eventually opening up to a beautiful sandy beach with views of the Atlantic. 

One of my favorite things about La Siesta was the landscaping. The tropical gardens and winding paths gave the resort a peaceful, almost secluded feel.

The resort also has a 24-slip marina that can accommodate boats up to 30 feet. At the time of our stay, slips were available for $150 per night plus tax.

There is also a beautiful walk-in pool located just steps from the casitas and guest rooms.

Guests can enjoy complimentary kayak, paddleboard, and bicycle rentals, which makes it easy to get out and explore the area without having to bring your own equipment.

My favorite part of the resort was the beautiful setting and the way our suite was arranged.

A short walk down one of the garden paths brought us to the entrance of our room. The bedroom and bathroom were located on one side of the suite.

On the opposite side was a comfortable living area with a couch, kitchen, and dining area. French doors opened onto a large balcony overlooking the pool and beach.

The balcony was the perfect place to sit and relax, and as you can see from the photo above, the sunsets were impressive!

My Take:

La Siesta Resort was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay while exploring the Florida Keys. I especially loved the tropical landscaping, the beach, and having the ability to enjoy watersports and amenities at the sister resorts. If you're looking for a place to stay in Islamorada where you can slow down and enjoy the scenery, La Siesta is worth considering.
