Sand Vista at Redington Beach: An Unexpected Beach Stay

 

On our way back to Arkansas from Orlando, we decided to check out the Redington Beach area. We really didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by what we found.

We started looking for a place to stay about 30 minutes before we arrived in Redington Beach. That's when we found Sand Vista. It was an older property, but the price was good and the location was fantastic. The owners were incredibly friendly and explained that they were in the middle of remodeling the property.

The room we stayed in had not been remodeled yet, but the grounds were well maintained and the property had that wonderful small, family-owned feel that you don't always get at larger hotels.

A BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE

We woke up before sunrise and walked out to the canal behind the property. It turned out to be the perfect spot to take photos as the sun came up. The peaceful setting and beautiful morning light made getting up early completely worth it.   

BEACH ACCESS

One thing we noticed is that there was no obvious signage marking the beach access. If you stay in this area, you'll need to know where to look. The beach access is located across the street, through a small walkway.

Follow the walkway and you'll come out onto the beach. And what a beautiful beach it was! The sand was soft, the water was gorgeous, and it was a wonderful place to spend some time.  

A COFFEE STOP IS CLOSE BY

If you're like me and need coffee in the morning, there's a Dunkin' just about a five-minute walk from the hotel. It was an easy place to grab a cup of coffee and something to eat before heading out for the day.

OUR TAKEAWAY

We hadn't planned on spending much time in Redington Beach, and we really didn't know what to expect when we arrived. But sometimes those unplanned stops end up being some of the best parts of a trip.

Sand Vista gave us an affordable place to stay in a great location, the beach was beautiful, and the small-town atmosphere made the area feel relaxed and welcoming.

If you're looking for a quieter beach experience away from the busier tourist areas, Redington Beach is definitely worth considering.
