Located along Florida’s scenic Gulf Coast between Destin and Panama City Beach, Grayton Beach is a small, historic beach community known for its beautiful white-sand beaches and laid-back atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the area is Grayton Beach State Park, a nearly 2,000-acre park offering much more than just a day at the beach. Visitors can enjoy the Gulf beach, hiking and biking trails, and boating and paddling on Western Lake.

Things to Do at Grayton Beach State Park

The park's main attraction is its beautiful stretch of sugar-white sand along the Gulf. The beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, or simply enjoying the scenery.

Western Lake provides another way to enjoy the park. The boat ramp gives visitors access to the lake for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and small boats.

For those who prefer exploring on foot or by bicycle, the park has trails winding through its coastal forest and dune ecosystem. There is also a one-mile nature trail near the beach that passes through dunes, salt marsh, and pine flatwoods.

Camping and Cabins

If you want to stay overnight, Grayton Beach State Park offers both camping and cabins.

The campground has sites for tents and RVs, with water and electricity available. The park also has 30 two-bedroom, one-bath duplex cabins nestled among the pine woods. The cabins accommodate up to six people and include a kitchen, screened porch, outdoor grill, and central heating and cooling.

The cabins are only a short distance from the Gulf and provide a more comfortable option for visitors who would rather not camp.

Hours:
8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year.

Admission:
$5 per vehicle for two to eight people. A single-occupant vehicle is $4, and pedestrians and bicyclists are $2.

Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at the park’s concession stand for approximately $25 per hour
