Bean Point: A Quiet Corner of Anna Maria Island

If you're looking for a quieter stretch of beach on Anna Maria Island, Bean Point is worth seeking out. Located at the northern end of the island, Bean Point feels a little more secluded than some of the busier beach areas.

We visited Bean Point during our stay on Anna Maria Island, and it quickly became one of those places that felt completely different from the more developed parts of the island. There aren't rows of shops, restaurants, or large parking areas here. Instead, you get sand, water, dunes, and a much more peaceful setting.

Getting to Bean Point

One thing to know before heading to Bean Point is that parking can be tricky. This is a residential area, and there isn't a large public parking lot right at the beach.

Since we were staying nearby in an Airbnb, we were able to walk to the beach, which made things much easier. If you're staying elsewhere on Anna Maria Island, you'll want to plan ahead and pay close attention to posted parking restrictions.

1. Gulf Boulevard: There is a small parking area located at the intersection of Gulf Boulevard and North Shore Drive. From here, you can walk to Bean Point via a short trail that leads through the residential area and sand dunes.
2. Pine Avenue: Another option is to park near Pine Avenue and North Shore Drive. This area has some street parking available, but it can fill up quickly during peak times.
3. City Pier Park: If you're willing to take a longer walk, you can park at City Pier Park located near the Anna Maria City Pier. From there, it's about a 15-20 minute walk north along the beach to reach Bean Point.
4. Trolley Service: Anna Maria Island offers a free trolley service that runs along the island, including stops near Bean Point. Using the trolley can be convenient if you prefer not to drive or if parking is scarce.

We entered through this beach access located at North Shore Dr and Fern St. 

The beach here is beautiful, but what I enjoyed most was the feeling of being away from everything.

There is something wonderfully simple about Bean Point. You have the Gulf, the sand, the dunes, and plenty of room to stop and take it all in.

The views were one of the highlights for me. Standing along the northern tip of the island, you can see where the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay come together. The water and sky seem to stretch out forever, making this a beautiful spot to simply slow down.

A More Natural Side of Anna Maria Island

Bean Point doesn't have the polished, developed feel you find in some of the island's other beach areas, and that's part of its appeal.

There are no restaurants or shops right on the beach, so this is a place where you'll want to bring whatever you need for your time there. Pack water, sunscreen, and anything else you'll want for a few hours at the beach.

There are limited facilities at Bean Point itself. Visitors are advised to bring their own supplies, such as water, snacks, and sunscreen. There are no restaurants or shops directly at Bean Point, so plan accordingly.

Best Times to Visit:

Bean Point is beautiful year-round, but mornings and weekdays are generally quieter. Sunset is particularly picturesque, offering stunning views over the Gulf.
