THREE WATERS RESORT IN ISLAMORADA, FLORIDA (FORMERLY POSTCARD INN RESROT)

Note: When we visited this Islamorada property, it was still known as Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina. The resort underwent a major transformation and reopened as Three Waters Resort & Marina in 2024. While the property has changed since our visit, I wanted to keep these photos and memories while also updating the post for travelers researching the resort today.

There are certain places in the Florida Keys that immediately give you that laid-back island feeling, and this Islamorada waterfront property was one of them.

Located along the Overseas Highway with palm trees, waterfront views, a marina, and plenty of places to relax near the water, the former Postcard Inn was the kind of resort that made it easy to slow down and enjoy being in the Keys.

Today, travelers will find a very different resort here. Following an extensive renovation, the property reopened as Three Waters Resort & Marina, Islamorada, a Tribute Portfolio Resort.

A Beautiful Waterfront Setting

The resort sits on approximately 15 waterfront acres in Islamorada, giving guests easy access to the water and that relaxed tropical atmosphere people come to the Florida Keys to experience.

During our visit, the waterfront setting was one of my favorite things about the property. Palm trees, boats, sandy areas, and views across the water made it feel much more like an island getaway than a traditional hotel.

More Than Just a Place to Sleep

One of the advantages of staying at a waterfront resort in Islamorada is having activities right outside your door.

The resort offers beaches, swimming, watersports, resort activities, a marina, shopping, and other recreation. Guests interested in spending more time on the water can also explore fishing, snorkeling, boating, and other excursions available throughout Islamorada.

You could easily use the resort as a base for exploring the Upper Keys, but it's also the kind of property where you could spend an entire day without going anywhere.

Exploring Islamorada

The location is also convenient for exploring Islamorada.

Known as the Village of Islands, Islamorada stretches across several islands in the Upper Keys and is famous for fishing, beautiful water, seafood restaurants, sunsets, and the relaxed atmosphere that makes the Florida Keys so much fun to explore.

If you're driving the Overseas Highway toward Key West, Islamorada also makes a wonderful place to stop for a night or two rather than rushing straight through.
